This large collection contains various historic images and documents related to the Jones House, the US Post Office in Downtown Boone, the R. L. Clay House (better known as the Rivers House), and various other materials related to activities in Downtown Boone.

Series 1 contains an assortment of historic images collected by Pilar Fotta when she served as the Director of Cultural Resources for the Town of Boone. Her office was located in the Jones House. Noteworthy images include a view of Boone from the southwest in 1939, a photo and program related to the dedication of the US Post Office in downtown Boone in 1940, a view of the Oscar and Suma Hardin House on Water Street shortly after its construction, and an image of the Linville River Railway depot with passengers embarking on a train pulled by Engine #11.

Series 2 contains three images from a framed triptych showing R. C. Rivers, Jr., his wife, and his daughters celebrating Christmas about 1951 together inside the R. L. Clay (Rivers) House near the intersection of Rivers Street and Water Street in Boone, NC.

Series 3 contains a series of snapshots showing members of the Rivers family celebrating Christmas in 1971 together inside the R. L. Clay (Rivers) House near the intersection of Rivers Street and Water Street in Boone, NC.
