Description
The front side of the postcard shows a large group of individuals of varying ages posing in front of a two-story house. In the forefront stand a line of children with men and women standing behind them holding a long net, likely a fishing seine. Two of the children appear to be holding guns. Men in the right of the image hold fishing poles. Individuals identified in this image are: Polycarp Pamphylis "Poly" Moretz (holding the fishing seine on the left), Sally Coffey, and Reverend Michael Luther Carpenter (located on the back row with the white beard). The woman at the far right of the front row in a white dress has been identified as Rosa "Rose" Houck and the child is Lucy Houck (Norris). The back of the postcard has "a fishing crowd" handwritten on it. The card has no postage or address. The image can also be seen in photographs found in items 051 and 053 of this series and on a postcard in item 053 of this series, which indicates this was a fishing trip near Boone, NC.
