Mystery Hill Optical Illusion Postcard

Subject

Description

This item is a postcard that shows a woman and a child posing at Mystery Hill in between Blowing Rock and Boone, NC, on Highway 321 near Tweetsie Railroad. The child stands on a swing while the woman holds a broom in a room with wood walls and flooring. Due to the optical illusion created by the attraction's "natural gravitational anomaly," the pair appear to be leaning at an angle instead of standing upright. The back of the postcard indicates the image was taken by Jack W. Bowers. The postcard itself is produced by W. M. Cline Co., out of Chattanooga, TN.
