Description

Reel #21 of 26 home movies in the original Clarence A. Price Home Movie Collection, this reel begins with continued coverage of the 1953 May Day festivities, including a number of dance routines performed by students of the Appalachian State Teachers College. May Day events during the 1950s typically took place on the lawn between the Central Dining Hall and the Women's Gym at ASTC. In several scenes, White Hall is visible behind the May Day Court, and occasional glimpses of the Lovill Home can also be seen. The middle portion of the reel features scenes of Janie Price King in a field of flowers, plus footage of unidentified individuals near this same field. The last third of the reel is footage of fall foliage apparently shot from the Daniel Boone Hotel, probably in 1953.
