Portrait of Family on House Porch

Portrait of Family on House Porch

Family, Portrait, Dog, Children

Rectangular photograph on developing out paper glued to cardboard. Image shows what appears to be a family gathered for a portrait on the porch of their home. The house is a one-story, side-gabled building with a front gabled porch and a central, interior chimney. A wooden plank fence is visible in front of the house in the foreground. Left to right are a man in a sit, a young boy, an older lady, a young woman or girl holding a baby, an older man seated in a chair, and a man in a hat on the far right with his upraised foot resting on the porch steps. Also visible in front of the girl with the baby and the seated man is the family dog. Also present are several unoccupied chairs on the porch, apparently used to steady the subjects for the photograph. The words "Geo. Fritts," probably referencing George Fritts, are written in ink on the surface of the photograph at lower left. No other identifying information is visible.

on page 385 (John Wilson Family 604) I see that "John Wilson married Mary Frits...,daughter of George Fritts...  there is a lot of information.  Could this be the same Geo. Fritos in the bottom left of this picture?  The Heritage of Watauga County Vol. 1.
