Collapsed Tate Dam #3, August 1940
Title
Collapsed Tate Dam #3, August 1940
Subject
Tate Dam, Payne Branch Road, Paul Weston, 1940 Flood
Description
Nearly identical to Par-Wes-03-014, this image appears to show the collapsed version of the Tate Dam off Payne Branch Road as viewed from the south following the August 1940 flood. A large pond sat behind the dam, closest to the camera, prior to the flood. The dam was later rebuilt, although it is now no longer functional. Vehicles can be seen parked along the road at far right as bypassers review the damage. Unfortunately, this image has slid down within its mounting, leaving a small portion obscured at bottom. This image is paired with Par-Wes-03-054 in its mounting from the scrapbook.
