Description

A color slide showing a covered wagon with several children riding inside during the Wagon Train parade in Boone, North Carolina. The Wagon Train, which traveled over multiple days from Wilkes County to Boone, began as a celebration of the 300th anniversary of the founding of North Carolina in 1963. The event would be held every summer until 1974. A sign on the side of the wagon (possibly an advertisement) reads "The Hayes' , Boone N.C." In the background a crowd can be seen, along with the storefront of Boone Drugs.
