Guide for Girls to Seeing Where the Boys Are, Appalachian Theatre, January 1961

Title

Guide for Girls to Seeing Where the Boys Are, Appalachian Theatre, January 1961

Subject

Where The Boys Are, Appalachian Theatre, Advertisements

Description

This four-page brochure, likely printed by the studio and distributed to the Appalachian Theatre with its imprint, purported to tell young women what they should and should not do when going to see the film Where the Boys Are. The movie was somewhat scandalous for the time--it explored teen sexuality fairly directly and included a rape scene--but was apparently popular in Boone. After its two-day run in January 1961, the film returned to the Appalachian Theatre in May 1961, September 1961, and August 1963.
