This image of the Appalachian Theatre front elevation was used in a birthday promotion in partnership with Coe Insurance and Realty Company, the theater's neighbor to the east, and the Northwestern Bank, the theater's neighbor to the west. Also visible in the image is a sign for Dr. C. Ray Lawrence, an optometrist with an office on the second floor of the theater. Due to a proprietary mask present in the negative, the image appears to be unnaturally pink. Recent research provided by Gary Boye indicates that the movie advertised in this image showed May 23-24, 1965, and again on December 4, 1965, but it was apparently used for the 1970 postcard promotion.
