Description
This collection consists of materials associated with the Bentley family (located in Foscoe, Vilas, and Valle Crucis), as well as the Teams, Johnson, and Greene families (located in Shulls Mill, Boone, and Zionville). Materials include photographs, genealogical documents such as family trees, and other memorabilia associated with the families through the years.
These items were donated to the Digital Watauga Project by Dr. Donna Johnson Heavner, whose family currently owns The Farm on Tater Hill in Zionville
Series 01 consists of one large scrapbook detailing the genealogy of the Teams (sometimes spelled Teems) family as well as the Johnson family. It includes early 1900s photographs of the Teams family at their homeplace in Shulls Mill, 1950s images of Dotsy Teams working in the cafeteria at Appalachian State Teachers College, and more recent photographs of the Johnson/Heavner families.
Per our donor agreement, birthday information for individuals born after 1980 has been redacted for privacy.
