Description

This image depicts a newspaper clipping from the Winston Salem Journal and Sentinel. At the top of the newspaper, "Drama-Outdoor .' Horn in the West' N Journal & Sentinel, Winston-Salem, N.C." is written in pencil. "Horn in the west (Historical drama). N)" is written in red pen as well. The clipping depicts the article, "Horn in West' Opens for Season" by Beverly Wolter. Wolter's article focuses on the changes to the Horn in the West play after the show’s tenth iteration. After a brief description of the experience of watching the play, Wolter explains how David French had rewritten Horn in the West to be tighter. She also explains how some music from the show was also rewritten. The article ends by saying that the first night of the play was for journalists and that they were also given a tour through the tourist attractions of Watauga County. There is also an image of the Daniel Boone Theater undergoing some repairs after a window had been broken. The picture is misidentified as "Horn's' theater."
