Description

This image shows the 1956 Appalachian High School Homecoming Parade. The focus of the picture is a float for the YMCA set in the bed of a truck. On the float, a group of actors dressed in cowboy costumes are standing behind a small brick wall and firing blank-fire pistols at a group of actors dressed like football players. The float is covered in smoke due to the blanks. Behind the float, the Appalachian Theater is visible. There is a sign welcoming alumni and there are also advertisements for Belle Starr's Daughter.
