Description

This was contained in a sleeve labeled, "ASTC Band Formations Home Coming/Half time, 10-22-55." This picture shows William H. Plemmons placing a crown on the head of Myra Efrid. This was part of a ceremony to name Efrid as the homecoming queen of Appalachian State Teachers College in 1955. Myra Efrid is holding a bouquet of flowers and standing outside of a car. Behind the crowning, the Appalachian State Teachers College marching band is standing in formations around the football field. A crowd is also visible on some bleachers in the background. This ceremony took place before the 1955 Homecoming Parade.
