This image shows Boone during the 1983 flood. The picture was taken from a bridge and a guardrail covers a portion of the image. Below the bridge, the New River has flooded and a large portion of the landscape is flooded. The right bank of the river has been covered in water while the left bank is largely unscathed. The unflooded ground is covered in snow. Printed on the slide is text which reads "Feb 83."
