Description
This image shows a large 1961 calendar titled, "Drive With Care Everywhere." It features two images of sheriff department personnel (described in images 065 and 066 of this series). The borders of the calendar feature various traffic signs such as a stop sign, speed limit sign, and railroad sign. Under the pictures are a list of businesses, presumably the sponsors of the calendar. These sponsors are: O. M. Hampton Construction Co., Watauga Service, Vance Recapping Co., Tweetsie Railroad, Ira Edmisten & Sons, and Oakwood Motel. This calendar was released while Ernest M. Hodges was the Watauga County Sheriff.
