Subject
Detroit--Michigan, Paul Weber, Paul Weston, Sheraton News, Wardell Sheraton Hotel, Music, Performances, Playgoer, Sapphire Room, Letters, Ernest Henderson
Description
This item is an overview page 38 of the scrapbook. There are four items on the page: a booklet, a letter, and two clippings from either a newspaper or magazine. The red booklet, The Sheraton News, is similar to the one seen in item 114 of this series except for a Detroit, MI hotel. Handwritten at the top of the booklet is "page 14-5." The title page indicates it is volume 1, number 4. On page 5 a section is circled in pencil. There is not a direct reference to Paul Weber, just the Myles Standish Hotel. Paul Weber is mentioned on page 14 for his performance with Buddy Bonds. On the top right is a clipping with "The Playgoer Oct. 1945" handwritten at the top. Both detail Paul Weber's engagements at the Sapphire Room in the Wardell-Sheraton Hotel in Detroit, MI. The folded letter at the bottom is written by Ernest Henderson to "the Managers of Sheraton Corporation Hotels." The letter details two musicians, Paul Weber in paragraph two, and their availability for future performances.
