Description
This item is an overview of page 39 of the scrapbook. On the page are six newspaper clippings featuring Paul Weber performances. Three are from the Detroit News column Revelry by Night on October 25, 31, and November 18th. They provide details about Paul Weber performing at the Sapphire Room in the Wardell Sheraton Hotel in Detroit, MI in 1945. The clipping dated October 25th tells of a birthday surprise for Weber that was planned by Ruby Weber (Weston). Two of the clippings were from the Detroit Free Press column "After Dark" on October 26 and November 23, 1945. Both again describe performances by Paul Weber at the Sapphire Room. The clipping at the top in the middle is from the Detroit Times on October 31 and details a Halloween party at the Sapphire Room where Paul Weber will be performing. Just below that is a clipping from the "Niterty Journal Oct. 1945." It also describes Paul Weber performing at the Sapphire Room and states that his organ is worth $8,000 and that the Wardell-Sheraton Hotel is undertaking a $70,000 redecoration.
