Reel #9 of 26 home movies in the original Clarence A. Price Home Movie Collection, the reel begins with footage of Janie Price (King) at an unknown farm, possibly the Etheridge Farm in Wilson County, NC. This reel also includes footage of the May 1950 May Day celebration. This event was traditionally associated with the Appalachian State Teachers College and often featured students from the school. The reel ends with footage of West King Street in Downtown Boone shot on the lawn of the Daniel Boone Hotel. May Day events during the 1950s typically took place on the lawn between the Central Dining Hall and the Women's Gym at ASTC. In several scenes, White Hall is visible behind the May Day Court, and occasional glimpses of the Lovill Home can also be seen.
