Description
This picture is a color slide of the 1963 Daniel Boone Wagon Train. The picture is of the parade participants gathering at the William J. Conrad Stadium parking lot. There is a gathering of people around a line of cars and a horse-drawn carriage. A second gathering can be seen further back which is largely consisting of covered wagons with their own respective horse teams. The horse-drawn carriage near the cars has writing on the back that says "Tweetsie Stage Coach U. S. Mail." On the top of the carriage, Fred Kirby is wearing a red cowboy outfit with a white hat. He is assisting another person in driving the carriage. In the road, there is an individual riding a bike and wearing what seems to be an army uniform. On the left side of the picture, there is a metal fence with barbed wire.
