The clipping is of the article "Opera Institute Planned At Boone This Summer" by Julian Scheer. Scheer begins by discussing the efforts by Norman Cordon to bring an opera program to the Appalachian Teachers College. There is an explanation of the origins of the program and also details on its run over the summer. The last section of the article is about Cordon's upbringing and what influenced him to become involved in opera. There is a list of his education and experience, along with a few operas in which Cordon had acted. The first accompanying image is of the fine arts building at the Appalachian Teachers College.
