In the foreground is a river surrounded by a stone wall and boulders. There is a small wooden bridge crossing the river. The river appears to wind around past a large house in the distance, now identified as the Chetola Manor House. Image housed in binder labeled "Downtown 1" of the Blowing Rock Historical Society Collection. As noted by Mardi Sumrell, "This photo is on the Chetola Estate, formerly owned by Luther Snyder, Walter Alexander, et al. The house in the background is the Chetola Manor House."
