This image shows a group of people gathered on a wooden porch of Dudley and Hattie Greene's home on John Shell Road in Bethel. Two of the people are sitting in rocking chairs. The back of the image states "l to r Robert Guy, Crathie Guy, baby Carson Guy, Trocia G. Norris, Madge G. Mast. Seated l to r Callie Shell, Hattie Greene, Sylvia Roberts Thompson, Ben F. Thompson. Jim Shell's home?" There is a slip of paper with the same information also taped to the back. It adds (wife) after Sylvia Roberts Thompson and (Callie's brother) after Ben F. Thompson. Also the date 1920. The donor notes that Robert Guy was a sawmill owner in Banner Elk. Crathie Guy (1895-1977) was an artist in Banner Elk. Ben F. Thompson (b. 1875) was a merchant seaman and farmer in Cove Creek.
