Description

This picture is a color slide of the 1963 Daniel Boone Wagon Train traveling through King Street. There is one onlooker standing above the Mayflower Beauty Shoppe and a few sitting on the hill further down. There are a few visible onlookers on the other side of the street. The focus of the picture is a car with a sign that reads "1963-1964 Rhododendron Queen." On the back of the car, 1963 Rhododendron Queen, Brenda Lee Bost, is dressed in full regalia. Along with her outfit, she is also carrying a bouquet of flowers and is wearing a crown. There is also a sash around her but the words written are illegible. There are a few older cars behind her that have note cards on which their manufacturer and date are written. There is a telephone pole with an advertisement for an auction to be held on July 6th.
