Description

This picture is a color slide of a Homecoming Parade on King Street. The picture shows a few cars and other parade participants moving through King Street. The car near the front of the parade has two women in very long dresses. The car is labeled "Homecoming Attendant." The car behind the attendants seems to carry the latest Rhododendron Queen in full regalia. A distance behind the two cars is a marching band carrying both a United States of America flag and North Carolina flag. There is a large crowd gathered for the parade. A few attendees are standing in the parking lot for Tastee-Freez. Another crowd is seated on the yard for the Daniel Boone Hotel. The remainder of the crowd is standing on the other side of the street all the way down the sidewalk.
