This image shows an unidentified man standing at a podium on a stage at the Appalachian State University stadium giving a speech. Miss Rhododendron can be seen in the background. This was at the end of the Daniel Boone Wagon Train when many people would speak at a ceremony marking the end of the road. There are flags on the stage behind him and others sitting on the stage. The school band can be seen to the lower right of the image.
