Manila Envelope Original Housing For Assorted Watauga News

This is an empty manila envelope that housed assorted newspaper clippings in this collection. On the outside of the envelope there is a list of various regions of Watauga County. The list includes: "Beech Mtn, Blowing Rock, Boone, Deep Gap, Seven Devils, and Valle Crusis [sic]." Next to these areas there are two checkmarks for all except Deep Gap and Seven Devils, which both have x marks. At the top of the folder, "Watauga County N" is written in pen and "N. C. Vertical File Reference Department" is stamped in the upper left hand corner. Under this stamp there is an incredibly faded word which seems to have once said "Watauga." There is also a faded stamp that says "Reference Department Jackson Library University of North Carolina Greensboro, N. C. 27413. The folder is worn, with several tears and an off-color tint.
